Apparently they identified him based on two factors: 1) the captor was compliant and admitted he was Saddam; 2) DNA testing. Guest Steve U of T Posted December 14, 2003 Report Share Posted December 14, 2003 If they had caught him a few hours ago, I would be sceptical about the results of a DNA test, but they supposedly got him yesterday evening and have been keeping it quiet until the results of the DNA test came back. I read an AP report that says they captured him 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Apparently that's Baghdad time, so that's almost 24 hours until it was reported.
