Guest csp0304
Hi, I'm a 1st year undergraduate student at UBC who's slacking off after the finals. Anyways, I was wondering how the grade point average is calculated. While looking at the GPA conversion sheet, I noticed that the Ontario schools use the 4.00 scale. If that was equivalent to 90-100% at UBC (I'm not sure though), does that mean a 95% average and 90% average are both considered to be 4.00? Or would the 95% average be converted to something higher, let's say, 4.20? Thanks in advance for helping out a 1st year who's still learning how the university works! Guest 007
I'm pretty sure that 4.00 is the highest you can get on the Ontario scale. So, any mark from 90-100 would just be a 4.00.
Guest Kirsteen
Hi there, Check the OMSAS 2004 Conversion Table for the scale that applies to UBC (scale 7), via the following link: www.ouac.on.ca/omsas/pdf/c_omsas_b.pdf Cheers, Kirsteen
Guest ioncannon97
just a caution: OMSAS doesn't convert the average. they convert every course to a 4.00 scale and then average those. so you could have a 95% average and not have a 4.00 GPA.
