ThatCanadianGuy
Hi guys! I've been looking around and I can't seem to find any info on this. How are the prereqs weighted in your application? I will be an OOP applicant with a DegGPA of 3.79 and a prereq GPA of 4.0 and I don't know whether or not to apply. I don't have an endless amount of resources so it would be nice to know the actual breakdown to see how realistic my chances are. Thanks for any help! -T
Haribo7173
Prereq grades only come into play post-interview (80% MMI, 20% Science GPA). They need to be completed to ensure eligibility however. A 3.79 degree GPA is low for OOP but I still say apply if you're meeting the requirements and can afford it. You never know!
lulu95
They're pretty open about the process, it's clearly stated in the application guide. https://www.mcgill.ca/medadmissions/applying/selection-process For your pre-reqs to come into play, you'll need to make it to the interview first, and considering that last year's average for OOP applicants invited to interview was 3.95 (same as the year before), 3.79 doesn't bode well to be honest. I recall seeing one person that had a ~3.85 in the invite thread I think, but not sure if they have a graduate degree. https://www.mcgill.ca/medadmissions/applying/admissions-numbers
