Heisencat
Hello there! I'm in my third year of medical school, i.e. clerkship. Elective picking time is just around the corner for my home school and not too far away for OOP schools either! I am currently interested in psych, with family as a backup. I was wondering if upper years or residents could share their experiences/advice/suggestions regarding psych electives, especially in the Toronto area, as my home school is U of T. What are some good sites/hospitals/preceptors? Information on other non-psych electives that you did to round out your application, like family, emergency, geriatrics, etc, is also welcome! I also speak French and am very interested in McGill and Quebec in general and would really appreciate information about psych and/or family electives in McGill and other Quebec schools, as I would like to get some clinical experience in a bilingual/Francophone setting. Feel free to PM me as well! Thanks in advance!
Heisencat
Bump! Any suggestions for psych electives? Looking particularly for advice on psych electives in McGill/Quebec and Ottawa. Thanks!
tameimpala
For McGill, St Mary's is not a good pĺace to do psych but all other sites are fine. The Douglas is a psychiatric hospital which might be interesting for you.
