Listing #0021342

"Built in 1860, our home has traditional Halifax Victorian architecture; high ceilings, hardwood floors, beautiful woodwork. All of the city is within easy walking distance along safe, tree-lined streets. Two double rooms and a small single – super clean, quite private, great value. HOSPITALS: QE II VG is 1 block, Children’s IWK is 2 blocks, Infirmary 6 blocks.

The space

This is an owner-occupied single family home that our guests tell us, often with great relief, is “so clean”! East coast visitors, MEDICAL STUDENTS, job interviewees, visiting parents and adventurous global travellers have said they felt welcome & comfortably at home – with lots of space, but also enough privacy – in a perfect location in downtown Halifax. We have 2 bedrooms available with double beds, quite spread out & private from each other, and one small room with a single bed. Our beds and linens are good quality. The 1 ½ bathrooms are shared. Please respect the fact that our home is scent-free.
We are listed with airbnb as “Lovely Downtown Victorian Home” , “Sunny Victorian Home Downtown”, (both have double beds) and “Victorian Downtown” (single bed only).
Guest access

As guests, you are welcome to enjoy our charming patio, living room with gas fireplace as well as our large, modern kitchen. You can make coffee and tea and help yourself to the light breakfasts we provide: coffee, tea, breakfast cereals, yoghurt, granola, fruit, porridge, and toast with jams and marmalade. You can store perishables in our ‘fridge and use the microwave but, sorry, otherwise no cooking. If you’re staying more than a week you can use our clothes washer and dryer. We also have a hair dryer at your disposal. We recommend self-caterers eat and shop at Pete’s Fine Foods on Dresden Row for healthy, delicious and inexpensive food."
