sGPA Calculation

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has insight into how sGPA is calculated for students who don't take 5 courses per semester. I worked while completing my degree so I never took more than 3 or 4 courses per semester. All the example calculations I've seen assume a course load of 5 per semester, and winter and fall semesters only (my school has a trimester system so I had the same course load in the summer as in fall/winter).  I'm mostly confused about when I should be calculating courses individually and when I should be taking term or full-year averages. The ORPAS site describes taking the average of the next 'grouping/duration' to make up the 20 half courses, but I'm not sure if that means a term, a calendar year, etc. I guess I'll find out the ORPAS calculation next month, but I'm definitely curious to know if I'm approaching it correctly.

Thanks!
