I emailed admissions regarding whether the additional comments essay was mandatory despite the prompt making it seem optional and their response was "Yes, it is a required element of the application process. If you have nothing to say related to the prompt you can simply explain that." If I don't have any extenuating circumstances that negatively impact my application, should I just talk about other challenges I have faced, or do as the response says and just explain so? adhominem Posted September 9, 2018 Report Share Posted September 9, 2018 I got a very similar sounding email, sounds like they're just giving cookie cutter copy/paste responses to the question. Xui2010 Posted October 1, 2018 Report Share Posted October 1, 2018 I called them on Friday and they told me that if I don’t have any significant extenuating circumstances then I should just be honest and state that in the section.
