Grad Applicants..Whats The Deal?

Hey,

Just wondering...if I have a 3.85 in my 4th year, and a 4.0 in my first year of Grad, does that count towards the cutoff of 'most recent 2 years'?

I ask this because my Undergrad GPA don't make the cutoff (except for my 4th year marks).

Thanks.

It is my understanding that Queen's will use your 2 best full-time undergraduate years. However, if you have a graduate degree and your undergrad average is slightly below the cutoff, the admissions committee will use "criteria" to assess the remainder of your application and determine whether you will be granted an interview.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply.

So my follow-up question is:

What exactly is 'slightly below'

My most recent 2 years is 3.68 (below the 3.78 cutoff).

Am I done? Or do I have a chance?

Thanks.

To be honest, I don't know exactly what criteria or cutoffs they use (I'm not sure anyone outside of Admissions does). All I can recommend is for you to hope for the best. Don't pack it in just yet!

I don't know specifically what their policies are, but I can say that my last 2 undergrad years had a GPA of 3.67 combined, but my Master's marks were all 4.0, and I got in. So no, I don't think you'll be wasting your time.
