Ballislife2412
I am in my last year of my degree and after volunteering in a lab for a while, I have a potential opportunity to do my honours there and I’m still debating whether I should do it depending on if I am genuinely interested in it. Does anyone know if doing an honours is beneficial for the UBC application?
Excel-erate Your Breath
I would say it'll show a nice progression in your activities on your next yr's application (but fingers crossed you get in this yr). Like going from an RA to running your own study. It'll also show a commitment to research which any premed will tell you is common experience. Whether it increases your chances of admission is a diff story, but generally people believe it does and I would tentatively agree. Not impossible to get in w 0 research tho But you defo have to be passionate abt the research youre gonna do else itll feel like a chore. Also if you can get a pub out of the Honours we already know the phrase Pub is dub
Rosiglitazone
Doing an honours degree in and of itself doesn't really boost your chances per se, but rather its the research experience/publications/presentations that you have from doing an honours degree that boosts your chances. Program rigour doesn't get factored in to your decision sushikelly23
