Not so much for the courses to be taken themselves (except for the work practicums) but in order to actually work in the field post graduation. You must pass a French entrance exam unless you qualify for a waiver. For example, students who attended High School and/or CEGEP in French would not have to take an entrance exam to prove their level of French. Also, students who have earned at least a DELF B-2 Level (Diploma of French Studies issued by the Ministry of France - which is globally accepted and can be taken in your home town) do not have to write the entrance exam either. They simply have to submit a copy of their Diploma. Level B-2 is considered Intermediate to Advanced and puts you on the same level as someone who attended High School and College in French. There are also other similar French exams that can be taken which can qualify for an exemption. McGill has a list in their admissions guide as to which ones they will accept.
