Throwaway7789
Hi all, PremedCanada red it suggested I post this here for advice! This is a bit of a strange question but I am wondering if an academic offense during undergrad (no permanent mark on transcript) will affect carms matching in any way? Will I need to report this on the cARMs application? I have recieved admissions to medical programs for this coming year (I reported this AO on all of my applications) but am concerned that this mistake from my first year of undergrad could hamper my ability to match into a preferred specialty! Any help is greatly appreciated.
rgu12
I personally did not submit my undergraduate transcript to any program I applied to. So probably has zero effect.
carmsinoid
I did have to submit my undergrad transcript to a couple of programs I applied for. It's becoming increasingly asked for (don't ask me why... seems entirely pointless and irrelevant to me). The CaRMS application itself this year asked "Have you ever been found guilty of academic and/or professional misconduct in medical school that is currently part of your permanent record?". If it stays the same when you apply, then this offense during your undergrad won't have any impact on your CaRMS application.
