Abbas
Hi, everyone I hold a B.Sc. in medical laboratory science and an M.Sc. in medical virology. Now, I'd like to apply for Ph.D. positions abroad, and many of the professors I find in the departments of infectious diseases or experimental medicine at universities are physicians. Many of them are working on exciting fields and projects I'd love to participate in. Is it possible for me (as a graduate student) to ask these physicians/professors to supervise me and even support my Ph.D. application (if admitted) with a full/partial fund? Or do I have to only email professors and scientist researchers with a Ph.D. in my field (not physicians)? Thank you in advance for your consideration. Kind regards, Abbas
bearded frog
Some physicians at academic institutions have research labs/supervise graduate students as well as do clinical duties. Usually they will have online information about their lab or research interest. If so then go for it, but the average random MD won't supervise graduate degrees.
