penicillin
Just wondering how likely it is for CMGs to match in the 2nd round? I know last year there were 177 unmatched CMGs after the 1st round. 48 sat out the 2nd round and 35 remained unmatched. As a result, 94-96ish of the 129 who applied ended up matching which is around a 70-80% rate. Isn't that actually pretty good considering its the 2nd round? If you apply broadly, it's likely that you will match isn't it? And its not even accounting for the people who apply and interview with no intention of matching just so they can qualify for an extension to clerkship. This is what I used for my numbers https://www.carms.ca/pdfs/2022-R-1-data-snapshot.pdf
