Guest FrancophoneRN
Coooooooooooooooooooooool. Puts my laptop to shame... If it is exactly like the one they show on the site, with all those James Bond features, I am sooooo psyched...

IBM' x series is the ultralight/portable laptop line from IBM, most of them are under 4lbs which is pretty much the lightest you can get + or - a few grams nowadays. Guest 0T6
Here it is officially described: www.medicine.uottawa.ca/m...ption.html Hmm I wonder if we get the external CD/DVD burner too (I assume we do since it's listed in the description). That's a really good deal then.. tablet (2800) + burner (550) + all that med software for 3200.
Guest misersizer
Does anyone one know approximately when you get the laptop? Orientation week, first week of school??? Thanks
Guest OttawaMeds2008
Last year during orientation week we were assigned a particular time where we went to a group session (20-30 students) to learn a little bit about the computers, meet the technicians from MedTech, and receive our laptop. Guest studentz
Not going to Ottawa, but $550 for an external burner? That's crazy; one of the big two (Futureshop/Best Buy) has a 16X dual layer Sony burner for $150 this week. The laptop itself seems overpriced given the specs but it is IBM. Guest FrenchyMed
the laptop belongs to you so you can do whatever you like... however MedEd is not responsible for damage/problems caused by stuff you downloaded.
Guest g22g
that's a keeper. They are trying to get out of the mode of having producing some 1000 pages of paper per block. This would allow students that can't touch type to write over with a digital pen a copy of their powerpoint slide on their tablet PC. You can always get an additional monitor when you use it at home. g22g
