Guest archchivalry
Hi, guys I'm not sure if it is posted before, but Full course load is 5.0 courses per year right? I'm just wondering if I take full course load every year (so 5 courses every year) and take summer school, will all the marks still be counted or will the best 5 will be counted? If I take summer school, it will be more than 5 course, so maybe 5.5 courses. Do medical schools still count all the 5.5 courses mark? Guest Elaine I
It really depends on the school. Some schools (eg: McMaster) count every course you've taken since you graduated from high school. Other schools (eg: Toronto, provided you've always taken 5.0 courses per year) only count courses that you've taken during the September to April school year. Finally, some schools (eg: UWO) will only count courses you've taken in a couple of years. Your best bet is to check the websites for each med school that you are interested in. Guest aneliz
At UWO, if you take an overload during a Sept-April year (like if you take 5.5 or 6.0 credits rather than 5.0), they will calculate your GPA based on your BEST 5.0 credits that year.
