Guest ATI
UBC sent some information today regarding student ID for the parking lottery. Anyone know where to apply?
Guest dsDNA
Hi ATI, To register for the parking lottery, you need to go to http://www.parking.ubc.ca and click on the link for student parking permits.
Guest ATI
Thanks dsDNA. This whole process looks expensive. How much does the parking cost if I actually win the lottery? PS: That sounded very ironic.
Guest ATI
Okay, lazy me surfed over to the parking webpage and found out how much it costs. www.parking.ubc.ca/pprice.htm It costs about $600 to be close to the health science area. To current medical students, what do you people do to park @ school?
Guest UBC parker
Try the Frats. They rent out parking at a pretty reasonable rate...or so I heard.

Guest dsDNA
You could also try buying a parking spot from a friend who lives in rez and doesn't need his/her spot. You might have to walk further but it's much cheaper. Another alternative, if you don't mind the trek to class, is to park on Marine Drive, right before you hit 16th Avenue. Guest ATI
Does anyone know what the schedule for first year meds is like? I missed the info session this year, but as I recall from last year, it seemed like everyday begins @ 8:30am?
Guest UBC parker
Crazy idea here: what's wrong with the bus? I have timed how long it takes me to get from East Vancouver to my classes and have found that once you factor in the time to walk from your car to class, the bus is faster (it usually gets you closer to class)!!! Not to mention cheaper, less hassle, environmentally friendly plus you can study during travel times.
Guest HAHA
Unfortunately, most days start @ 8AM for first year. You can blame a UBC/Translink conspiracy.
Guest ATI
Are you joking me? I should have enrolled in one of the other schools. Can someone post the first year time table for me? Thanks
