Guest Ticket
At MUN, is there any discussion/coverage of alternative medicine treatments (i.e. massage therapy, etc.)? Is there openness to doctors learning about alternative methods of treating ailments?
Guest climberchick
I'm not sure about MUN itself, but I do know that many doctors throughout newfoundland are very open to alternative therapies. I know several doctors who graduated from mun and practice in newfoundland who refer there patients to message therapist and also know several doctors, mostly family pracitioners, who have taken CME in acupuncture. From what I gather MUN is a fairly traditional school, which is actually what I like about, so I'm not sure if alternative therapies are apart of the core program, but I can say from my experience that they graduate doctors with open minds, which is of course half the battle.
