Guest jazzyjd
Hi all, I'm a ubc grad student and med school reject. ha ha. I had an interview but didn't quite make the cut. While I didn't bomb the interview I certainly could have done better. I've been thinking of starting up a discussion group - a real life one! (not that I have anything against computers;) - where fellow medwannabe's (or even current med students?)could get together occassionally to discuss a book or two related to medicine. Maybe when it gets closer to interview time we could even try some ethical stuff. I think that this sort of group could not only be enjoyable and interesting, but would be valuable as interview prep - expressing opinions, soldifying ideas/perspectives etc. I have particular interests in palliative care, international medicine and mental health issues. (just read a book by vancouver's own Dr david kuhl - what dying people want - fantastic and inspiring!) If there are any other vancouverites interested in something like this perhaps you could drop me a note in my ezinbox and we could discuss it further? Does anyone else have book recommondations? jazzyjd
