Guest phantom8
I've been told that I should get this instead of the tomahawk kind. I see that there are different kinds -- telescoping ones, ones in which the rubber head can be adjusted and removed, etc. Anyway, does anyone have any tips about purchasing a Babinski hammer? Thanks! Guest Lactic Folly
*sniff* All these posts gone.. I remember there were quite a few anecdotes about portable/unportable/breaking hammers, but can't remember the content..
Darla
Can anyone fill in the blanks/offer advice on this
Satsuma
Hi Darla, The problem with the long plastic babinski's is that they are awkward to carry around in your pocket and also they tend to break. I bought a stainless steel one, it is short and the "head" part...the part you hit with, can be removed and screwed on so that it is flat with the handle. So it is easier to carry around. And won't break. I got it last year at the equipment sale at school. So I would guess you can get it through shoppers.
Darla
Thanks Satsuma! That's really good to know. And just in time, the equipment sale is today
up doc
Just to let you know, the metal telescoping ones also tend to break and quite quickly in some cases, they are easier to tote around so I'd still recommend them, but I know of more than a couple of people in my class so far that have disabled them!
