Is it better to send the transcripts by courier rather than mail?

If you are referring to Ontario medical schools, you have to arrange for OMSAS to obtain a transcript from your university by filling out the Transcript Request Form.

yes, i know but my univ (UBC) allows you to send transcipts my courier or mail. I was just wondering if it's 'safe' to send it my mail. Does the decision depend on how much time there is til the deadline?

If you have enough time for them to be sent by mail, save yourself the $ and go that route. You can always contact OMSAS to confirm that they have received the transcript.

 

One thing to make sure of if you are sending them directly (ie outside of Ontario and not using a TRF) is that many schools require a certain number of days to produce the transcript, so be sure to factor that into the amount of time it will take to get the transcript to OMSAS.
