Guest SaraLaura14
Hi, I am currently majoring in behavioural neuroscience and I am planning on applying to med school after I finish up my degree. Lately, I have been thinking about doing an honours degree but if I do that I will not have enough time to complete a minor (I really wanted to have my degree finished in four years). Does anybody know if not having a minor would affect my chances of getting into med school? or would it be better to have a honours degree with no minor?? Thanks, SL:)
Guest scrubbed
Hey SL, I don't believe that not having a minor will affect your chances of getting into med school. A minor may show that you have more diversified academic interests, but I think that is something that could also be reflected in your activities or your essay and be personified in your interview. With Western moving to an honours degree requirement for acceptance, an honours degree is a good move. Of course, it's only a good move if you enjoy the subject matter, behavioural neuroscience. All the best with your program.
