Ottawa post-interview assessment

Hi there,

 

I had a question for the great folks in Admissions today and the response included a piece of information that was novel to me, which may be of interest to you.

 

Previously, I had thought that the final rank list of interviewees was determined first, by interview score. That is, all interviewees who receive the highest interview score were grouped together, and they would be at the top of the rank list; all interviewees with the next-highest interview score were grouped, and so on. I'd also read in threads from previous years that each group of interviewees with the same interview score was further ranked by WGPA. Thus, if the last offer had to be given to one student within one group of interviewees with the same interview score, it would go to the student with the highest WGPA in that group. Not so for this year, apparently.

 

This year, the post-interview, final rank list shall apparently be determined by a composite score. The composite score will contain two factors: the WGPA and the interview score. The WGPA will constitute 10% and the interview score will constitute 90% of the composite score. Therefore, if any sort of different scheme existed previously, it has evolved to something a little different this year.
