Guest dirtbag1
I'm a Canadian citizen and US permanent resident. I'm applying to med schools in Quebec and would like to do my residency in the US. Does anyone know if McGill will give me an advantage over UdeM or Laval for residency match, or does it mainly depends on individual performance, recommendations, etc? Thanks! Guest moo
McGill's probably better known in the US. Plus language of instruction is in English, so naturally that would be better. Go to McGill if given the choice.
Guest Ian Wong
McGill has a significantly greater reputation in the US; usually being the only Canadian med school that US folks could reliably name. It's thought of quite highly, particularly in the Northeast. If your goal is a US residency, McGill is by far the strongest choice of the schools you've mentioned. U of T is usually the only other med school with any amount of name recognition in the US. Ian
