Ahimsa
Hi all, Quick question here. If one was employed as a research assistant, do we categorize that as "research" or "employment" on the sketch? Thanks very much for your help, Ahimsa
TimmyMax
Hey, Personally, I would classify my position as a research assistant under "employment" (since you get paid for it and work for someone else) and save the "research" designation for research-related accomplishments such as publications, abstracts, posters and presentations/talks at conferences, but that's just me. lostintime
So if you worked for a summer on a research project, and then did a poster for it, you could have 2 entries--one for employment and one for the poster?
TimmyMax
Hey, That's what I'd do!
WabbaJ
hey guys, i agree with Timmy on the research/employment conflict. i also did the same thing. if it was a summer-job, it goes into employment, and for research, i went by the criteria Timmy's got down. no new info from me, just giving strength in numbers. best wishes. Kuantum
Ottawa says if you did an NSERC-USRA, that does not count as employment.
TBJ1
haha, it seems like the Ottawa's requirements are determining how we list things in the sketch overall
lostintime
Thanks for the replies! Well I got partial award and partial money paid by the hospital, but he said it wasn't out of his funding, so I'm not even sure if that constitutes as employment. Oh well, I guess I'll just elaborate to anyone if they ask.
