Jixe
Personally, it seems like a money-grab to me. My sister attended it last year and claimed that the class was filled with a bunch of undergraduate pre-med keeners and some adults.

Kirsteen
Hi there, UofC also holds a Mini Med School series. Essentially, it's a series of lectures on medical topics that might be of interest to the general public, e.g., cancer, cardiovascular disease, etc. Lectures are delivered by a faculty member within that discipline and the audience can ask questions thereafter. Students at our medical school (myself included) were recruited to help out with the sessions and at UofC, at least, the series seemed to be very popular and enjoyed by the 200-odd people who attended them. Cheers, Kirsteen
