Family Medicine Textbook

Recommended Posts

I'm currently doing my clerkship rotation in family medicine. I'm interested in knowing what books you used for this rotation. Although using the TO notes has proven to be fair, it does not cover the minutiae that the administration requires me know for the exam, such as how long to leave a diaphragm in after intercourse.

I've heard of the Lange and Mosby books, and they are both pretty pricey, so I'd like to get your opinions before I start shelling out cash. Thanks.

Hey there,

I have yet to do my family rotation, but a handy (slightly bigger then a) pocketbook, for all things infectious, is the “Anti-infective Guidelines for Community-acquired infections –2005 ”.

They used to have copies in our uni bookstore, but I ended up buying it from the website. (It came quite fast too)

No textbook suggestions although we don't have an exam for our rotation. I like the Case Files series and I know they have a new family medicine edition. If you like case-based learning, this might be a good option.
