Friend as a verifier?

I just recalled that I played a part in a silent movie made by a student director at this technical college in town...but I've lost all contact with everyone involved (both the student director and the other people who played parts). Is it acceptable to just list a friend who knows I did it as a verifier?

I've done that for one of my activities and I am certain I read somewhere that it's definitely acceptable.

Also, on second thought...I could either use a "regular" friend (i.e. my peer) or I could use my old boss/longtime friend, who's also writing me a ref letter...I presume the boss would be a better choice? I'm just somewhat concerned because I used her as a verifier for a bunch of other stuff already, since she knows me so well. I don't want them to get all suspicious, lol.

aww come on, nobody's going to call your verifiers, and even if they did, the guy you're putting to verify you could claim that he was in the movie or was the director... how would they know?? as long as you're not making it up and give them this blank stare in the interview when they ask about it, you should be fine.
