Guest jazzyjd
Hey all, I've been thinking about who to ask for letters. I already have decent letters from my research supervisor and the manager of my volunteer activity but i'm wondering if it would be better to ask a post doc from my lab who knows me very well and would write a great letter, or a prof I TA'd with for the 3rd letter. I got along with the prof well, but she's quite reserved and doesn't strike me as someone who would go out of her way to write a 'glowing' letter. Any thoughts on the post doc vs. prof dilemma? Would a letter from a post-doc be frowned upon? thanks!
Guest CTU24
hi Jazzy. here is a useful discussion that deals with some of your questions:p084.ezboard.com/fpremed101frm28.showMessage?topicID=407.topic The general consensus is that you want to be sure that you are getting a good reference that can speak about you personally. Name dropping...that is prof vs post-doc usually does not give you an advantage. From your post, it seems like you have answered your own question. Best of luck, CTU24
