IP or OOP status

when will you know if you qualify as an IP??

My mom lives in Mtl but since my immigration landing record only has my dad's name I had to give extra documents...so I dont know if they accept any of those extra I gave

hahaha well if I were you, i'd figure it out IMMEDIATELY!! OOP application submissions are due tomorrow!! (and thus I am here, procrastinating instead of finishing off my application )

well i already submitted everything in time for the OOP deadline.

They told me that if I qualified, my application would be placed with the IP pool but I don't know how I will know that

My status says 'ready for review' does tht mean im considered an IP??

No it does not mean you are considered IP it just means they have all the documents listed. Look on minerva application and beside Admit type if it says Quebec University then you are IP if it says something else (eg. Ontario University) then you are not

hmm it says Ontario college/uni

but when i go to the OUAC ref #, they say that it is not needed for my appl...any other Ontarian applicants that didnt have to submit it?

There's a government application that lists the things that could make you a Quebec resident. Find it on the McGill website, and figure out for yourself.

 

If you do qualify, you'll eventually have to hand in that documentation along with others.

 

Make sure you act ASAP. McGill admissions is rather fast compared to other places. If you go into the OOP pool, it's over!

I do qualify cuz my mom lives over there. But for the document that they need to prove our kinship either has to be a record of landing (but mine only has my dad's name) or a birth certificate from another country (I dont have one).

 

Besides would they not contact me if I needed other documents to prove kinship? I mean I would go as far as give them a DNA test...

I wouldn't wait for them to contact you. You should be the one contacting them, and this is very true of McGill Admissions. You may call them a get a useless response or no response at all. But you gotta keep trying and figure it out. McGill Medicine tends to be very strict from admissions to the end of the medical training (trust me, I know these people).

yeah i called them, and they said that all is good, im IP then the catch as far as she can tell...whatever that means
