Satsuma
I am wondering if there is anyone on these boards who has experience in community medicine. Specifically, I am trying to figure out what the difference would be between completing a community medicine residency vs completing a residency in anything else (eg emerg?) and an Master's in Public health. It seems to me community medicine is just family med + an MPH, so if another type of specialist were to obtain an MPH would they be competitive for similar positions? Also, does anyone have any idea what the salary of a community med specialist is? I suspect they would be salaried. Thanks
NLengr
Our community health prof was salaried by the Province. She said the money is good, and comparable to other specialties. I'm guessing the lifestyle would be outstanding too, which is also worth something. I can't give you more specific details though.
