Theories: Why are more people applying this year?

Does anyone have any theories on why there seem to be so many more applicants to Ontario med schools this year? Western has ~150 more than last year, Toronto has ~400 more, and Mac has >400 more. I can't figure it out.

<pagetext>Did anyone go to a U.S. school and their gpa was not converted by OMSAS? I don't know if I should do something about it. I read in OMSAS booklet that U.S. gpa is still convertible, however, in my confirmation letter it said that my gpa is not convertible.

The Human Biology Students' Union (HBSU) at the University of Toronto is proud to announce the Seventh Annual Medical School Symposium!

 

Day: Wednesday, February 4, 2004

Time: 5 - 10 PM

Place: OISE Auditorium (OI-G162), 252 Bloor St. W., at the corner of Bedford Rd. and Bloor St., near the Tim Hortons. See Map: www.osm.utoronto.ca/map/

The event will feature admissions officers and medical representatives from:

 

McMaster University

Northern Ontario Medical School (NOMS)

University of Ottawa

Queen's University

University of Toronto

University of Western Ontario

 

Come out and learn about each university's program! Get your questions answered! Get free food!

 

If you wish to sign up to become a member of HBSU, you may do so at the event. The cost of membership is only $2.

 

Regretfully, we can open up the event only to all U of T students (including those at the St. George, Erindale and Scarborough campuses) due to the rules and regulations of the U of T.
