Critical Care and Emerg electives U of T

Hi everyone,

 

I am wondering if there is anyone here who can comment on electives at U of T.

 

I am thinking of completing an elective in Critical Care either the MSICU or NTICU at St Mike's or the Trauma ICU at Sunnybrook. Does anyone have any experience in these departments? What is the environment like? My understanding is that there is a new staff every week in these units...would this make it difficult to obtain a letter of reference?

 

I am also considering an emerg elective at U of T. Can anyone comment on emerg electives at U of T? I am wondering if U of T is just too big and students would just get lost in the suffle and it would be harder to get a letter of reference and also harder to get much hands on experience, given the many residents/fellows?
