2 consecutive years

Recommended Posts

I was under the impression that a majority of med schools only look at your top 2 consecutive years for admittance.

Is this true? or does anyone know which specific schools do this?

Each school considers different courses/years when evaluating your GPA. Some schools look at your best two years (eg: Western), others your most recent two years (eg: Dalhousie, Queen's - but only if you don't meet the cut-off with your overall GPA), others a weighted average favouring your most recent 3 years (eg: Ottawa, NOSM), others removing a certain number of courses based on how many courses you've completed (eg: Toronto, Manitoba) and others all courses ever taken (eg: Mac).

Schools that only consider two years include Western, Queen's, Dalhousie, Calgary and Saskatchewan (I think Sask - it has been several years since I checked.).
