sabs775
Hi, Does anyone know the difference betwen PBL and Case-based learning? Thanks!
Julie
From what I gather from the presentation we had, it will be quite similar, with a few key distinctions : - You will have the objectives before you get to the first pbl session (ie Monday) and there will be required reading/preparation before this session. During this session, you will figure out what is wrong with the patient, etc. At the second (Friday) session, you would get more information and maybe a second case to discuss (ie what would you do if the patient were a 25 yr old female instead of a 85 yr old male?), etc. - Apparently there will also be less overlap between what you learn in class & what you learn in CBL. As it is now at Ottawa, most pbl objectives are covered during lectures, which is kind of against the point...
