Just wondering if, after completing my MD degree at a Canadian medical school, I can apply for a family medicine residency in Australia?

Thanks,

<title>British Citizen who lives in Canada Wants to go to UK</title>

<pagetext>Hey guys,

I was born in Britain (Scotland) and I lived there for my first 4 years and then I moved to Canada where I've been ever since. I have my British citizenship since I was born in Britain. I'm wondering, do I have to pay the overseas (international) med school fee if I go to a British med school? Or do I get some special treatment since I've lived in Britain and have my British citizenship?

<title>CPSO Recommendations re: IMGs</title>

<pagetext>In the article below, dated January 19, 2005, there is a recommendation from the CPSO that Ontario residents who attend medical school internationally be allowed to apply for residency in Canada during their last year of training, as opposed to the current system of already having to have graduated from medical school.

www.cpso.on.ca/Whats_New/...ission.pdf

Interesting to note that the article also states that the number of medical licenses granted to IMGs actually exceeded the number granted to Ontario med school graduates for the first time last year.
