mcater2006
Dear Premed101'ers: When medical schools ask you the question "where do you see yourself in 10/20 years" during an interview, what kind of response do they want? thanks, mcater2006
rocky222
When they ask such a question are they referring to academic/career-wise? or also in reference to your personal/family situation (kids, marriage, etc.)
Lactic Folly
They'd like to see that you have thought about your future, and are knowledgeable and realistic about career options in medicine. You do not need to be overly specific, as 10 - 20 years is a long time away, but do give some thought to your values and the paths you have travelled in your life to this point. Lactic Folly
As an interviewer for medical school admissions, I would expect to hear about your career plans, and consider the personal stuff optional.. Some things might be hard to predict, but you could certainly say that you look forward to spending time with your family, having a rewarding home life, etc. I don't think there is any right or wrong answer to this.
