George Posted March 25, 2008 Report Share Posted March 25, 2008 At the U of C interview, Dr. Lemay told us that there would probably be an increase of about 10ish seats for U of C, but said that they won't know until a bit after the 2008 provincial budget comes out (around May or June, if I recall). foos Posted March 25, 2008 Report Share Posted March 25, 2008 Here's an article about some of the things Stelmach promised during his elections campaign. I'm speculating an small increase each year until we hit 225 new seats. But given the currently infrastructure, an increase of 225 new positions by 2012 is wishful thinking. If you read further into the article, Stelmach clarifies that the plan is to qualify 225 new doctors in Alberta annually, and not necessarily raise the number of seats in the med schools. tooty Posted March 26, 2008 Report Share Posted March 26, 2008 If he did, effective immediately, and could do it without compromising quality, and one of those seats had my name on it... he'd have my vote! :p So does that mean if he somehow compromised quality but one of those seats had your name on it and it was your only acceptance, you would not vote for that extra seat?
