Laptop

no mcgill doesn't have a laptop program like other med schools do. honestly, you don't need a laptop if you have access to a computer at home. In the first year and a half, we are given notes for each unit and most of us write notes directly on the handouts. If anyone brings a laptop to class, it is for checking email/playing games during class and not for taking notes. During the day, there are computers everywhere in mcintyre (less so in stratcona) that you can use for checking email during the day, etc.. During the clinical years, you are on the wards and carrying your laptop with you is not possible. You can always leave it in your locker but i'd be worried about theft. Most of us carry palms around that have WiFi. there are computers in the hospital that you can use (unfortunately, facebook is blocked.... )
