sidi
Hey guys Just wondering, do we put down things like amateur sports (say, tennis, playing an instrument) down in the EC list...like if I've been playing for the last 2 yrs with my brother? And if we do, who do we put down for a verifier.....I'm guessing your playing partner, but what if that person is your brother! Is it frowned upon? hiebs13
I put everything down. In my opinion it show that you have other interests and are well rounded. I actually even used my self for running. Its kind of hard to come up with a verifier for and unorganized individual sport. Not sure if this was frowned upon or not. However I did get in (waitlisted for a month).
kgmed23
Put it down for sure. It makes your application a little more personal and allows the reader to see that you have many interests.
unknown user 7
I'd also add, like mentioned in another recent thread that you should make sure that you can talk about it in an interview.
Pantaloons
...make sure that you can talk about it in an interview. I would agree; however, isn't UBC doing MMI interivews now? In these interviews, the interviewer wouldn't ask you to elaborate on a specific activity on your record.
unknown user 7
True I guess. I wasn't paying attention to the fact that it was UBC and I dunno if they're doing MMI.
medisforme
what section would you enter it under, if you were a member of a political discussion club. I am guessing it would go under the "other experiences" section in the EC list but i want to make sure since the "other experiences" section suggests entries related to research etc...
