So what do you do with your spare time?

This forum?

Yeah. I'm not a premed. And I definitely don't need advice on how to fill out my 48 OMSAS list. Been there done that. :)

I feel that since this year started, so much of my time is spent in school or for something related to it, with mostly the same group of people. I keep up with some of my hobbies, but it is at a lesser degree than what I used to do. Kind of sad. I'm also not able to keep up with volunteering anymore because of the schedule.

I do not find med school as stressful as undergrad.

Just wait until clerkship.

In a pass/fail system, it is no longer numerical grades that differentiates the great students from the average ones; It's the subjective impression you can leave on your attending physicians. In other words, it's an arbitrary, chaotic, and therefore stressful, process from clerkship onwards.

As for what I'm doing with my spare time: Spelunky, and La-Mulana.

I also recommend Cave Story. Great indie games!

I have taken up oil painting and cooking and I find them both to be good stress relievers. I also like to have something creative and artistic to do... it's an outlet for all the stress and emotional turbulence of clerkship :P

I also swim about 3 times a week and then sit in a hot tub afterwards and chill out for 20 minutes. Once again, I find this very stress relieving.
