confused007
I was just wondering, does where you get your masters matter to med schools? Do they view all the grad schools as equals or do they have preferences? Thanks
Jochi1543
Prestige is the last thing you should concern yourself with when it comes to grad school, IMO. You have too many other things to worry about - finding a field you're interested in, finding a prof who's got a good project going AND is looking for students, looking for a funding source. sparkles3288
From what ive seen, you should always pick your grad school based upon the person you want to work with, not the school itself. Every person whom i've seen do that is happy. Those that picked grad school based upon "prestige" (which, seriously in canada ...i'd say nill?) or location ..well most of them have regrets. Pick what interests you.
JohnDakota
You pick the proff, not the school if you're doing a research based grad degree. Do your homework on how much the proff publishes, if it's even the niche you're interested in. Never pick a grad school because the university has a good name. srindogg@hotmail.com
For medical school, I don't think it really matters where you go to grad school. However, if you are considering an academic career outside medicine, then definitely the prestige of the grad school matters A LOT. Going to an institution like UT will make you degree much more recognizable outside Canada.

Actually, nearly every proff has told me where you do your postdoc has the most impact on your career; not really your masters or PhD (I guess unless you stop early).
