Awesome. Next time someone tells me they're too old to exercise, I will refer them to this article.

Olga Kotelko, the 91-Year-Old Track Star

Theres something about old people in mtl kicking ass at sports that I find weird. My 1st year patient is a 75yo pro badminton champion thats been playing since 20yrs before I was born and yet still is in better shape than me...

EDIT: She also likes the McD's value menu. Go figure

What I find striking is the fact that there was no mitochondrial decay. However, I do think it's a mix of genetical, physiological and lifestyle factors. I don't think everyone can and will manage, with the same amount of exercise, to be like her physiologically. I don't know how I'm going to be like when I'm that old, but I tend to eat a lot and not gain any weight. I also eat junk food, and somehow my cholesterol levels are just the way they should be in a healthy individual. When you compare some of my friends, in the same age category, they end up gaining weight after eating one piece of cake. I, on the other hand, can eat a whole cake and top that with a double cheeseburger from BK and I would end up either maintaining the same weight or losing weight.

If I were you Dee, I'd ask her for her secret. ;):D

deeman, are you one of those azn guys who lovess souping up japanese cars? lol. Because I honestly know a bunch of guys just like this. Most of them have japanese cars, but this one guy souped up an audi and it's aweeeeesome.

Yes. Except I'm not asian (oriental). And I highly doubt I "soup" up cars like the guys you know. All speed, no bodykits.

Not gaining weight can also be a negative. Ie. in strength training. ;)

But yea at anything over 70 I'll be lucky to me mobile methinks. I'm going to be paying for my teen years of full contact sports. I currently walk with a limp and wish I had a cane. (right knee fubar'd)

What temp do you guys leave the heater on during the day? 73 seems to work with me (I hate the stupid thing measuring in Fahrenheit. No settings to turn it to `C!)

I leave mines at 75 to 80. Nice and toasty. :D

Well, you're right. I'm training for a half marathon and some people want me to do a triathlon.... and I'm sparing myself from triathlon because I don't think I can gain any fat to build any muscle. LOL. You still need strength for a triathlon. I started a bit of Muay Thai lately because of my friend and kick boxing.... but that's about it. He wanted me to go strength training with him but all they do is lift these huge @$$ weights which I pathetically would struggle to lift and potentially not be able to lift them at all. lol.

My dad is 65 and still runs 50mile races. He's running a 24-hr footrace in Dec/Jan and has a goal of 161km. http://www.acrosstheyears.com

I just wish I had his mitochondria. :D

He and I are the "eat the whole cake" types, but my mom and sisters are both obese. Go figure.

Go check out your real age: http://www.realage.com/

Your dad is awesome. Maybe you do have his mitochondria, since you're not on the obese end. :)

How's the hunt coming so far? Maybe make a separate thread/discussion folder since you're a mod? The "PM101 personals" ;)

Guess what I was doing here

Well, based on the direction of the skid marks leading up to your tires, and the direction your car is facing (cuz I have mad detective skillz like that:P), I imagine you didn't just casually drive to an abandoned parking lot and park. I know I wouldn't have! :P........ I mean.......... ;-)

I. Hate. You. :P

If I don't turn my space heater on in my room (in the basement), my room is a balmy 14'C (57'F). If there was some way I could keep it at 19-20'C it would be perfect :-) (But then around 17-18'C at night, because I like it cooler when I sleep).

 75-80?! It must be like a sauna in there!!! What's that in Celsius?! If I had it that hot, I don't know if I'd have many clothes on :/

Had a really good day today. Made some brownies, did some shopping, and saw a friend I hadn't seen in at least a month (just got back from her place). Watched Fight Club (totally forgot how much I like that movie!) and played some Wii- cuz we're just that cool. And I'm just that cool that I'll have to pull out our Wii and start playing it again because I forgot how much fun it actually is. Kick my bro off of his PS3 when he's playing COD so I can play some Guitar Hero or Raving Rabids (again, cuz I'm just that cool). I wonder if he'd go for that.................... HA!

Everyone asks how I am so skinny and what my secret is, I always answer "I eat everything you tell yourself you can't eat--no one ever tries that diet. I also take the elevator instead of the stairs...I'm preserving my body."

It works. Honest.

So, yesterday, I had the most relaxing day ever. I didn't do any work, and I didn't feel guilty for doing so!

Also, in that brief period of time, I re-watched Casino Royale, and I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with that movie. Daniel Craig looks HAWT *le swoon*, and the plot and character development, and the action, is all just......amazing!!! :D

I have a crush on James Bond as portrayed by Daniel Craig. <3

It is important to wind down and relax when we need too. I too love James Bond movies. :)

And

is why I'm going to Japan next year....

Smooth movements but still a bit slow and most of these are pretty simple to do. However, this is awesome. Now I wonder how much of a balance control these robots have - ie if I pushed one of them, would he fall? Sort of like

But

pretty cool. I wonder how much of a push is the researcher giving him.... OR.... if this robot was to walk, how much of a dynamic stability would it actually have? (because right now it is static)
