Living in Gatineau? Doable?

Recommended Posts

hey guys,

for those that are already in med school at Ottawa, do you think its possible to live in Gatineau and commute to OttawaU? Does anyone in ur class do it?

Do buses run frequently through this path or would I need a car?

Gatineau to RGN by buses is about an hour...but you need to take 3 buses...

Gatineau to Rideau Center --> To Hurdman --> To RGN

So, if you want to stay in Gatineau, get a car.

If not, live in Ottawa.

2 hours a day wasted in (waiting for) buses is a nightmare. ;)

I would be very careful about this, I'm pretty sure they won't give you QC student loans if you go to a university outside Quebec. So living in Hull/Gatineau won't help, since you'll be going to UofO.

I could be dead wrong (I hope I am!!!). But I would definitely call the Quebec student loans office first to verify!

Let me know in case I decide to go to Ottawa, it'll be a life-saver! :)

I am in Gatineau, so that is not changing for me....

I was thinking that there is a shutttle from main campus to RGN?

Also depending on where you are in Gatineau, you may only need 1 bus to Rideau,...Hull is the best option....

I live in Gatineau, and I was not planning on driving....seems that it might change...
