University of Alberta Acceptance are out

Are you IP or OOP herrage?

Also do you mind sharing your stats?

Hey Roko,

I am in IP applicant. My stats are 3.9 prereq, 3.7 cum, 29(MD), 20(PAT), 19(RC).

I know last year me and my friends asked about the waitlist and the admissions advisors said that there aren't that many on the list. I wonder if they will inform me of my position on the list. I'll phone them now.

If anyone else is waitlisted, posting your stats would be helpful for everyone.

Cheers

wow herrage your stats are really good for being waitlisted. This year seems super competetive lol.

Thanks Sama. I am hoping for the best and I hope that I am high on the wait list. I know there is at least one person who will not be accepting, I'm sure there will be more.

I believe it was Chris Grant; she had said that both acceptance and rejection letters went out at the same time. But it doesn't seem like anyone has gotten rejection letters yet. Leads me to believe that they did what they did last year; give acceptances first and then rejection letters.

I hope for the best for all the prospective students. Wish me luck too! haha

Hey i'm also on the alternate list; the admissions secretary wouldn't give an estimate on the number of waitlisters- apparently it's confidential:confused:

A specialist who interviewed applicants for many years informed me that few are put on the list sometimes only 1-2. But from this forum it seems like there could be 5-10.

cgpa: 3.85

pgpa: 3.86

I have a question for others that got accepted...what are you doing for housing arrangements? I didn't apply early for residence just because for something like dentistry you really don't know your odds of getting into the program and assumed they'd have some sort of reserved spots for dentistry students but apparently not?

Hey everyone I talked to Chris today and she said the GPA this year is 3.8. If you don't have that you're not in. Good luck!

On the U of A's site from last year and the previous year it showed the range as being 3.6-4.0 for those who were accepted. Do you mean the range has now changed to 3.8-4.0?!?! Did you get any more info from Chris such as averages ect?

yeah i mentioned that the lowest GPA accepted last year was 3.6 and she said that the person must have gotten a 4.0 for the "other" (I'm assuming she was referring to the pre-req GPA) and that person must also have a perfect interview score as well as a really, really high DAT score.

are you like a troll or something?

i know someone in DS there right now whose gpa was in the mid to high 3.6s for both overall and pre req, and the person did not have above average DAT scores either

oh and im waitlisted without 3.8s, maybe not very high on the waitlist but still waitlisted lol
