For the hours box, did you guys put in your total hours, or hours per week?

I found that for a lot of my activities, it wasn't on a weekly basis...

so in my hours box, I wrote "XXX total hours,"

then in the fulltime/acad.year box, I included "approx x hours /week".

 

I asked this to OMSAS, but they just said to do the best I can...

I have this question too and I did what you did (I put ____ hours total) and then put the details of whether it was weekly or seasonal work in the box...I guess they'll figure it out when they read it right?

I suggest you do the opposite, where you put "approximately x hrs/week" in the hrs per week box and then in the academic year/summer box put the total number of hrs.

I think it depends on the activity. For some of my ECs, I have to write X hours total, since hours/week didn't quite fit the activity. I think OMSAS gave you the best advice...just do what you think is best.

Obviously if your talking about an activity that u did for 2-3days then total hrs is much more suitable. However say you volunteered on and off for 3 years at a given location. Then in that case it seems more apropriate to mention the number of hours per week and then to mention the total hours either in the same box or the academic year/summer box. But again, just do ur best to be as clear as possible
