Possible to apply for MD-PhD after BSc?

I'm thinking about doing my bachelors in micro and immunoology at mcgill and then apply for the MD-Phd program offered in medicine. but is this a possible route or do i have to apply in MD-MBA or MD-CM before i can apply for the Phd? Thanks!

You need to be accepted for the PhD program independently upon your merits. And if you are accepted into both programs, then you are good to go. But, if you need for example a M.Sc. to enter the PhD program, the fact that there is actually a dual program would be irrelevant to you.

Yes, you can you apply for MD/Ph.D after you've finished a bachelor's. It's basically the same process as applying for the MDCM program except the application is a little bit different (you have to mention why you want to be a clinical scientist in your autobiographical letter versus just a doctor) and the deadline is sooner (Nov vs. Jan). You also have an extra interview with a Ph.D committee on top of the regular MDCM interview.

 

Other than that, there are no special requirements for applying to MD/Ph.D versus just applying to MDCM.
