skvangs
If I am working with someone in a summer research programme, and am asked this question, what factors should I consider? I have no idea how to answer this question. What would you say?
thatonekid
Is this an undergrad position? Are you interviewing to work in someone's lab? If the answer to the second question is "yes", then I would do some research about what type of work is done in the person's lab and talk about that. For example, if they have a website that says I work on X, Y, and Z, pick one of those things that you like and say something along the lines of "I want to be involved in your work on X because I found it interesting." I would assume that you wouldn't ask to work in someone's lab unless you were interested in their research in the first place. So talk about what made you want to work with that person in the first place. Then again, I may be misunderstanding your question.
Jochi1543
^ what he said. Also, read some of their papers on the different topics to see which material is more appealing and easier for you.
