Order of core rotations

Recommended Posts

I know this thread is from a long time ago. But I really don't think that it matters that much. There are advantages/disadvantages to everything. Early rotations in something you're interested in allows you more time to rule in/out. People expect you to shine on your electives in the field you are interested ind during early fourth year, not your first core rotation in Sept of third year. Most of the time people are looking for med students that are keen and pleasant and get along well with the team, not someone who knows everything. If you don't know how to do something, just say "I've never done this before but I want to learn" (unless people are in the middle of a really busy moment/emergency, obviously) and most residents/staff will be more than happy to help you out. They're not going to judge you poorly for it.
