tooty
So we know that it's tough to go to an international med school and try to match to a Canadian residency as an IMG, especially for competitive residencies. But what about those who do a UK/Aussie residency and try to come back? Can they write some Canadian equivalency exams for their specialty to get licensed here? leviathan
Currently Australia, Ireland, the US and UK family med board exams and training are accepted as equivalent to the CCFP. I'm not sure about other specialties. Of course it is difficult doing residency in those countries after graduating because they have limited spots in Australia, and I don't know if you can do residency training in the EU without citizenship. See http://cfpc.ca/RecognizedTraining/ for more info.
tooty
is matching back here harder than matching in uk or australia?
leviathan
is matching back here harder than matching in uk or australia? Since it used to be the case that up until recently there were enough spots in Australia for all Canadians, I'm guessing it's still a lot easier to match there than here, though the chances are dropping.
