jobin219
Hello, First post here at premed101 but been browsing the site for a while now. I was wondering if anybody has more information regarding student LOC's for Med students studying outside North America. Which bank offers the best solution, and would you reccomend getting a LOC? I will be receiving funding through Alberta student loans, but it won't come close to covering all my expenses. All input appreciated
HBP
You probably won't get an LOC without a cosigner.
deeman101
Which bank asks for a co-signer? My advisor said they would only ask if you're not going to med in Canada. I certainly didn't need one. LOC is good to have even if you don't need it. It can be used to boost your credit score if nothing else.
NLengr
The OP asked about loans for International studies. For Canadian students, you don't need one.
jobin219
My parents have no problem in cosigning, while not rich they do have a fairly decent credit score. As stated earlier, I am enrolled in an international school, but my student loan barely covers my tuition.
bloh
Most banks will give you a LOC with a cosigner. The terms/conditions will depend upon the wealth/credit score of the cosigner.

Have you taken a LOC? If yes what made you choose that bank?
